Kaziranga National Park

Where the River Breathes Life

Where the mighty Brahmaputra River spills across vast floodplains, a wild kingdom rises from tall elephant grass and misty marshes. This is Kaziranga National Park—a remarkable conservation success and a celebrated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Across 430 sq km of grasslands and tropical forests, the landscape feels raw, powerful, and gloriously untamed.

Exploring Kaziranga is an adventure shaped by terrain and time. At dawn, elephant-back safaris glide through tall grass for close encounters with rhinos, while jeep safaris traverse four distinct ranges. The Central Range is famed for rhino sightings, the Western Range known for tiger movement and prolific birdlife—each unveiling a different chapter of the wild.

The Realm of the Rhino

At the heart of Kaziranga stands its most iconic resident—the prehistoric-looking Indian one-horned rhinoceros. With over 2,400 individuals—nearly two-thirds of the world's population—the park is their greatest sanctuary. Yet the story stretches far beyond rhinos. Kaziranga holds the world's highest density of the elusive Bengal tiger, alongside herds of Asian elephant, powerful Wild water buffalo, elegant Eastern swamp deer, lively Hoolock gibbon, and more than 480 bird species painting the skies with sound and color.

Best Time to Visit

From November to April, Kaziranga welcomes travelers into its vibrant world. By February and March, controlled burning shortens the grass, creating exceptional wildlife viewing. When monsoon rains arrive, the Brahmaputra rises and the park rests beneath seasonal floods, renewing the land for another cycle of life.

In Kaziranga, river, grass, and wildlife move in timeless rhythm—offering not just a safari, but a journey into one of Earth's richest natural landscapes.
